Important Resident Information
The Village of Melrose Park is committed to ensuring that it meets the requirements in response to the State of Illinois’ Lead Service Line Replacement and Notification Act. In this law, all public water supplies are mandated to create a comprehensive water service line material inventory for all properties supplied with water in the community. Since the village does not currently have this information on the type of material of the water service line into your house, our teams may be visiting your home to collect this information. Therefore, the Village has implemented its Lead Service Line Replacement Program to identify and eventually replace lead service lines in our community.
Lead Service Line Inspectors
The Village is working with the Melrose Park Chamber of Commerce and Community Development and individuals who will complete the scheduled home inspection process. Inspectors will need access to the inside of your homes as they will verify your water service. Inspectors have been reviewed and approved by the Village and will carry an official identification badge that verify their identity. Additionally, residents can call the Chamber office if they have questions about inspectors at (708) 343-9500.
Following completion of the lead service line inventory, the Village will eventually develop a comprehensive lead service line replacement program to ensure our services remain safe.
The Village of Melrose Park appreciates your cooperation in this requirement initiative.
